Welcome

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God Reigns!” – Isaiah 52:7

Welcome to Streams of Purple!

I am excited that this dream of sharing my thoughts and ponderings in a blog format is now a reality.

I believe God put the desire to blog in my heart many years ago, but I just never felt the timing was right.

I have since come to understand that when God gives you a ‘desire’ to do something it is like He drops a load of soil straight into your soul. The basic foundation that will eventually produce good fruit is laid by Him, but that soul soil needs to be nurtured – made rich and fertile – by the hand and heart of the Master Gardener. That process of preparation could take days, weeks, months or even years.  The key is to be patient in His timing and His ways.

A God given desire stirs us to stretch and grow in ways we might not ever have realized we needed to. It positions us to receive the life He desires to pour into us. It also prepares us to let go of what chokes life from us.

As our desire matures over time, God chooses exactly the right moment to plant the seed He has ordained us to bring to fruitfulness.

Seeds flourish for the Kingdom when they are planted by God in the soil (heart and soul!) He has provided and prepared.

The last few years for me has been a time of seeking and finding, and realizing that the best spiritual progress is made by truly just being still in His presence. Apparently, my soil is ready because I feel He as planted a seed within me.

The concept for Streams Of Purple came to me in a dream. I literally went to bed one night with no concept the time was right for this, and woke up the next morning with everything perfectly laid out in my head…including the name.

The name Streams Of Purple is a picture of the words of Jeremiah 17:7 and Psalm 1:3:

I believe we need to position our lives by the stream of Living Water that is Jesus. We need to learn to drink deeply of the Living Water so it “becomes in us a spring of water welling up to eternal life”  (John 4:14).

Purple represents Jesus, as the King of Kings…as Royalty. When we acknowledge Him not just as our Savior, but also submit to Him as the Lord of our life, we invite streams of living water to renew and refresh us with Kingdom power.

As we receive these “Streams Of Purple”, our own royal status as precious princesses and princes in the Kingdom will become our eternal reality.

I feel blessed that you are joining me on this journey to discover and embrace Streams Of Purple.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. 8 They will be like a tree planted by water that sends out roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” – Jeremiah 17:7-8

“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither-whatever they do prospers.” – Psalm 1:3
